Your privacy matters deeply to us. This page explains what information we collect during our Pilot Program, how we use it, and how we protect your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are

dAIs Genie Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a UK-based company developing digital tools that help older adults live independently and stay connected.
During our pilot program, we collect limited personal information from participants to deliver the service and improve the product experience.

2. Your Contact Details

What we collect:

  • Your name, phone number, email address, postcode and the person that miiGenie could help.

Why we collect it:
To confirm you are eligible to participate in our pilot (based in Southampton) and to contact you regarding your pilot access and updates.

How we use it:

  • To send you a welcome questionnaire.

  • To confirm your 3 months of free access when the app is ready.

  • To occasionally contact you for feedback or pilot updates.

Legal basis for processing:
Your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at support@miigenie.com.

We will never:

  • Sell or share your contact details with advertisers or marketing lists.

  • Use your details for purposes unrelated to the pilot.

3. Your Feedback

Why we collect it:
Your experiences help us understand where miiGenie can be most useful and what problems need solving.

How we use it:
If you tell us, for example, “I can never find my council tax bill,” we’ll use that feedback to improve Genie’s ability to help with similar tasks.

Anonymity:
When sharing feedback with our engineering team, we remove any personal identifiers. You become “Pilot Tester #42,” not “Mary from Shirley.”

Legal basis for processing:
Our legitimate interest in improving the service and user experience.

4. Your App Data

What we mean by “app data”:
Any information you save or upload once you begin using the miiGenie app — for example, photos of letters, appointment reminders, or notes.

How we use it:

  • Only to deliver and improve features you choose to use.

  • For example, if you say “Remind me to call John,” Genie remembers “John” purely so it can help you next time.

Data protection measures:

  • All data is securely encrypted (locked) both in transit and at rest.

  • Only you and trusted family members you explicitly authorise can view your data.

  • We do not use your app data for advertising, profiling, or resale.

Legal basis for processing:
Performance of a contract — to deliver the digital service you requested.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR

You are always in control of your personal information. Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data — ask for a copy of what we hold about you.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”) at any time.

  • Withdraw consent for data processing.

  • Object to our processing of your data.

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled.

6. Data Security & Retention

  • All personal data is stored on secure, encrypted platforms based in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA).

  • We limit access to personal data to authorised miiGenie staff involved in the pilot.

  • We only keep your data for as long as necessary to run the pilot or as required by law.

  • When you leave the pilot or request deletion, we remove your personal data within 30 days.
